The Handbook describes the practical application of rules and policies governing the faculty, including policies related to hiring, appointments, review, and tenure.

The Handbook of Academic Administration summarizes all policies, regulations and benefits that apply to faculty and administrators at Brown.

The Handbook undergoes annual revision and is subject to change in accordance with University delegations of authority or by vote of the Corporation. In the event of inconsistencies between official University policy and this Handbook, the official University policy prevails.
